I actually showed up for the R&R 1/2 training on Saturday, last Saturday that is. Then I made it to the other two day's, Tuesday and Thursday. Last week I was walking 3 minutes and running for 1 minute. Repeating 8 times. Talk about working up a sweat! WOW! This week I will be moving the run up to a minute and a half or maybe two. All I can do is try, and I will!
Next week I will be making a trip to the running store to get fitted for running shoes. This ought to be interesting, LOL! They have you run through the store, everyone in that store is probably SKINNY, and here comes big gurl! Oh well. First time for everything! Any how, everything in the store is 20% off so I thought I would get the shoes then while they are on sale.
So, starting this running thing came with a whole list of things I will need, to be a runner.
~ a bra, for the girls!
~ fuel belt, holds water bottles
~ a watch, digital-to time the walk and runs
~ socks and clothes that pull moisture away from your skin!
~ body glide, so you wont chafe, awesome!
~ (my own addition) Runners Magazine, to be in the loop!
~ another one of my own, sunglasses!
~ Runner's Log
This is all I know of for now.
Getting up and moving,
Terri

where does the time go..........
It's so funny how at times you have so much time on your hand's that we wish we were busy doing something then when we are busy we would just settle for a little down time. In the past couple of years I have had a-LOT of down time. Getting settled into the unexpected turn of events that required very quick changes for me and my family. Changes mostly due to the economy,,,,so we had to learn to change some old habits! All of us. It hasn't been easy!!!But, we have had so many blessings that have come out of this. It has been a step by step process. Alot of "by's" in between those steps at times.
Any how,,,,I can't believe my daughter will be graduating here in another 3 weeks! This school year FLEW by! WOW! She turned 18 in January! People have asked if I am sad that my baby is graduating. Of course I am sad, but I am also so very happy for her to be able to start a new chapter in her life. I want her to be so successful and take advantage of LIFE, live it!
Michael, my son turned 16 in April. Me and Mike celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary on the 19th of May. Those were the big events of the year thus far.
As for me and my weight loss! Well, the GOOD NEWS is! I have finally started training for the Rock and Roll 1/2 Marathon that is taking place on September 5th,2010. I kept saying I was going to start this and kept putting it off. It is really scary to me. 5 k's don't bother me,,,the thought of 13 miles, DOES! I don't know why. Maybe because it's so big, the event that is. I don't know I'm just scared! I wish I had a friend or family member next to me to do it with so I don't have to go it alone. But, I have learned that sometimes I do better at things when I am alone. I think it is because I am very easily persuaded to not do something. I am a professional procrastinator myself, so I don't need help from anyone else. I don't know, I am just scared! Can you tell!
Back to the weight loss, I am a LOSER! I lost 2.4 lbs last week. First week back to Weight Watchers. I think, and that's a big I!!!! I needed a brake from it. Although my main reason for quitting last time, was the finances. I had to give it up. So, here's to Weight Watchers. I still at this time have the same goals for now. I think I have my head back on straight without so many stresses. We applied in January for a modification loan on our home and finally found out the last week of April that we were approved! God is good! That was a prayer answered! So, I guess we will be here for awhile. YAY!
